My private practice is based on a psychodynamic understanding of the clinical relationship, and is focused on working with individuals who are confronting issues related to:

  • Trauma and Attachment
  • Gender and Sexuality
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Substance Abuse
  • Eating Disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Grief

Whether you are facing questions about your relationships or your life choices, I believe that psychotherapy can lead you towards your most authentic answers. Anxiety and depression often present themselves when there are issues begging us to deal with them. The safety and security of a trusting therapeutic relationship can make this feel possible. I work to provide treatment that offers this exact safety and security, allowing you to explore the parts of yourself that feel both scary and powerful.

In fact, it is my conviction that through the experience of the psychotherapy, we can be empowered to love our lives and our work, even in the midst of the confusion and pain that accompanies everyday life.

I work from the perspective that our past deeply impacts our present, but does not have to define it. I use the therapeutic relationship as a tool to look at a client’s history. I also believe that therapy can serve as a testing ground for new ways of moving forward.

I work from an assortment of theoretical orientations, but I am ultimately in favor of letting the client lead the way. I believe that whatever works, works. I am not loyal to any one modality to the exclusion of others. Together we will identify what feels most beneficial to you and your life.

Based on 10 years of experience, I work comfortably with GLBT issues, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues and eating disorders. I have worked in a variety of settings, including a psychoanalytic institute and college counseling. I have experience working with groups and couples, in addition to individuals ranging from age 15 to older adults.

The fee for a 45 minute session is $140. I am comfortable working with insurance companies, providing receipts for reimbursement and figuring out payment plans that work for you.
